The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Division of Public Health, is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a full-time Administrative Technician. Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review transcripts, exam scores, and other documents for initial licensure.
  • Process licensure issuance, renewal, reapplication, inactivation, and audits per administrative procedures.
  • Enter and update data in the My License Office (MLO) system, including address/name changes and licensee status updates.
  • Provide information to applicants, licensees, and the public regarding licensure requirements and regulations.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, maintain physical and electronic files, and operate office equipment (copiers, fax, etc.).


 

Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency; business administration; accounting; customer service; and/ or technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.

Preferred Qualifications (within the last 2–3 years):

  • Experience reviewing applications/documents in compliance with statutes/regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access (or similar programs)
  • Customer service experience related to application/documentation inquiries
  • Ability to organize and maintain electronic and manual records
  • Experience working with confidential documents and HIPAA compliance

  • High degree of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to interpret and explain state statutes and regulations
  • Effective time management and problem-solving capabilities
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professional integrity
  • Ability to work independently and seek guidance as needed
