Job Summary:
What part will you play?
GAF Energy is seeking a Residential PV Designer to help us grow our Design team. This exciting role will report to the Design Manager and work within a cross-functional team at GAF Energy.
The ideal candidate must have strong CAD skills, working knowledge of the NEC, and a thorough understanding of the permit, design, and installation of PV systems.
Your primary responsibility will be designing, permitting, and creating installation plan sets for all residential PV systems. You’ll ensure that all designs are code-compliant, facilitating both the permitting process and the installation phase.
What will you be doing?
Developing and implementing design, permit, and installation plan sets for residential PV systems, including site plan and electrical line diagram.
Producing and managing the bill of materials required for projects.
Creating and standardizing design templates to streamline the design process and improve efficiency.
Training team members on the use of templates, design standards, and installation best practices.
Enhancing GAF Energy’s ability to rapidly utilize new designs and plan sets for residential PV systems.
Establishing metrics to identify and develop opportunities for cost reduction and performance improvement.
Creating and developing innovative solutions from concept to installation of residential PV systems.
What do we require from you?
2-5 years of previous experience in a related industry.
Strong proficiency with CAD platforms, particularly AutoCAD, and experience developing templates and tools to streamline the creation of plan sets.
Excellent understanding of residential electrical systems and integration with PV and storage.
A strong ability to automate processes using digital tools.
Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering new ideas from concept to installation plan set while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Proactive and possess an independent work ethic, with the ability to contribute to and collaborate with diverse teams.
Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills, with proven experience in the application of residential PV systems.
Individuals hired for this position can reasonably expect a base salary within the range of $60,000 - $85,000 and an annual bonus.
