About the role

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.
Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora,你好, hallo, vítejte!
Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work
Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we've made our way from down under, to hubs in Austin and San Francisco, which are now home to our US operations. So whether you're in Texas or California, you have choice in where and how you work in each of those states. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.

What you’d be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Governance of the platforms and processes that enable Creative and Production capabilities for our marketing teams - working collaboratively within the Marketing Technology group to own strategy, commercials and operations of creative tech tooling
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to ensure digital asset storage and activation are appropriately accounted for in the development of 3p integrations and 1p proprietary builds - including DAM, CMS, DCO and creative automation workstreams
  • Act as liaison to senior leaders across Creative, Production and Marketing to develop and maintain a strategic direction for creative technology at Canva
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures for DAM, including the maintenance of file naming conventions, metadata schemas, and taxonomies - leaning into Data and Engineering resources to make sure automations and scale are front of mind while the foundations are established
  • Craft efficient team structure and services needed to organise and maintain digital assets across production and creative teams in a central repository
  • Mentor the Creative Tech Operations Specialist, responsible for current operations of the DAM and key contributor to the roadmap for future tooling

What we're looking for

  • Keen ability to distill complex concepts into simple and productive language for a diverse set of partners and collaborators
  • Deep comprehension of the platforms utilised by world-class Production and Creative teams; and how to onboard, operate and gain value from platforms and vendor relationships
  • Proven experience with asset management tooling (DAM, MAM) - overseeing metadata structures and large scale asset migrations of 5M+ files
  • Familiar with video, motion, design, web design and photography workflows (including LucidLink, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, DaVinci Resolve)
  • Strategic attitude, able to keep things moving while maintaining a vision of the bigger picture and define a path forward that delivers incremental value along the way
  • Ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the nuances of a marketing department at a product-driven technology company
