Description

Your primary objective as an Event Coordinator/Host is to create and maintain a “world-class” experience that enhances all of the fine points of the restaurant and its private function abilities.  To achieve this objective, your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:

  • Reaching out to perspective clients within the same day of reaching out to Max Downtown regarding an event
  • Develop a relationship with all clients, ensuring client satisfaction for the details of their event
  • Obtaining all necessary information to start the preliminary details of their event i.e.: date/time/room/guest count
  • Working with the client and staff to determine the floor set up in addition to walk throughs, if requested by client
  • Informing client of rooms food and beverage minimum, in addition to any other fees (gratuity, taxes, rental fees and floral, if applicable)
  • Completing and sending out contracts to clients noting all requests. Required to also provide the credit card authorization form to all clients along with the contract.
  • Required menu knowledge and assisting in final menu choices; working in connection with Executive Chef or Chef de Cuisine 
  •  
  • Communicating any special requests or needs with the management team and any servers who will be affected
  • Planning for any potential issues or scenarios that may arise with clients and their guests
  • Create a positive working relationship with repeat clients and guests to ensure that Max Downtown remains the preferred choice for private dining functions.

  • HOST RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answer calls with a friendly and courteous demeanor
  • Welcome and engage guests, answer questions, provide direction and ensure needs of the guests are met
  • Menu knowledge, attention to detail, ability to speak clearly when taking to go orders
  • Communicate and address client issues and problems in a timely manner, involving management if needed
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including compliance with the Max Downtown dress code

Qualifications

  • Qualifications

  • At least 2 years Restaurant experience preferably in a fine dining atmosphere
  • Prior success leading special events
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Gather is a plus
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Detail oriented, ability to be organized and lead a team to be successful
