Operation Technician I

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Operations Tech for our Onshore Resources & Carbon Management, EOR asset. This position will be located in Denver City, TX.

Essential Job Duties:

The primary responsibility is the interactions with Well Analysts, Control Room Operators, and Facility Techs to maximize production capacity. Collaborates daily to determine producing well exceptions and performs diagnostics to return wells to production.

  • Equipment and facility isolation (Lock/out Tag/out) as needed
  • Maintain Company vehicle – inspect and maintain maintenance schedule.
  • Issue Safe Work Permits as needed.
  • Respond to alarms and troubleshoot equipment
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks as required
  • Report Spills and Call in Corrosion Damage Reports (CDR)
  • Perform/Maintain Housekeeping on Facilities and Wells
  • Check BS&W content to maintain good oil
  • Prepare for and Participate in Production, Safety and Business meetings.
  • Monitor Automation systems to ensure safe and efficient operations of the wells and facilities
  • Check and maintain oil levels on ALL air compressors
     
  • Wellhead
    • Visual inspection (routine)
    • Check and maintain back pressure valves
    • Repair minor leaks
    • Stuffing boxes (grease and repack)
    • Inspect Piping
    • Coordinate major work
    • Cleanup minor spills
       
  • Flowlines
    • Repair minor leaks
    • Call in spills, contain spill, cleanup minor spills
    • Coordinate change out of flowline valves
    • Monitor and Maintain pressure switches
       
  • Facilities
    • Visual inspection / housekeeping
    • Check vessel levels, pressures, switches, valves (perform <30 minute repairs)
    • Check pumps (seals, maintain oil levels)
    • Minor repairs- including clean meters and sight glasses
    • Check air compressors and backup system(s) daily
    • Verify and troubleshoot alarms
    • Check and maintain oil levels on air compressors
    • Review and optimize surface chemical variance reports and water quality.
    • Monitor residue gas usage and gas sales of leases
    • Skim Water tanks
    • Conduct HES Audits on Facilities on a routine basis
    • Know the condition and status of equipment and show “ownership” of the equipment.
    • Maintain VRU’s, Reduce Flaring events (Expected to know how long before a flaring event becomes reportable to the TCEQ).
    • Notify Regulatory personnel ASAP or at least within 24 hrs of the time a flaring event starts

Education:

  • At least High School Grad or GED. Some college or technical training preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
