Overview
Waters is looking to expand its SAP team with a seasoned SAP EWM expert as we embark on a multi-year initiative to modernize our SAP platform by moving to S/4HANA.
This role is dedicated to supporting the Waters Global Operations Strategy & Operational Excellence organization in fulfilling its mission to improve both our customer and employee experience by transforming how we plan, buy, make, and distribute products. You will be responsible for guiding and approving design decisions to ensure EWM is optimized to support business processes in Global Operations, while ensuring that these are also aligned with the overall solutions strategy of the broader enterprise. This will require you to bring a deep understanding of how to best design an end-to-end solution to support operations, a perspective on how best to integrate other solutions into an existing SAP ecosystem, and an ability to collaborate across a global organization operating on a single instance SAP platform.
In addition, this role will serve as a conduit between Global Operations, IT, and other functions, working closely with stakeholders to ensure that we are fully optimized across our end-to-end supply chain processes, coordinated on broader enterprise processes and are setting ourselves up for success as we continue our SAP transformation.
This role will be a key part of the Supply Chain IT Team, reporting to the Sr. IT Director, Manufacturing and Supply Chain, for guidance on design review and approval requirements, standards, change control, and architectural decisions.
Responsibilities
- Work with Global Operations stakeholders to develop and execute the roadmap for improving warehousing and logistics business processes, leveraging the functionality within SAP S/4HANA EWM, WM and IM to support immediate and longer-term business initiatives
- Apply a global, ‘standard-first’ mindset to drive process harmonization, identify and reduce customizations that hinder efficient scaling of Global Operations
- Engage with cross-functional teams in “art of the possible” conversations and use analytical and problem-solving skills, to support them in crafting adaptable, comprehensive solutions appropriate for each need, while presenting the pros and cons of options
- Collaborate with the logistics team to understand and document business requirements.
- Conduct review and approval of proposed configuration, customization, and modifications to ensure standard capabilities are being leveraged whenever and wherever possible and that best practice is being applied to all solutions
- Design and configure SAP EWM solutions and work with SAP developers to deliver custom reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, and workflows
- Test and troubleshoot SAP EWM ensuring alignment with documented business processes and requirements
- Provide support for logistics-related applications, including both SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of new warehouse projects
- Partner with both Global Operations and IT leaders to assist with definition of approach, resourcing needs, and risks in support of our key initiatives
- Keep abreast of industry best practices and bring relevant insights and solutions to meet Global Operations’ strategic business needs
- Act as an advocate for Waters’ SAP solutions across Global Operations
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience working on SAP Extended Warehouse Management solutions, including WM and IM in either a functional or development role
- Strong understanding of SAP Extended Warehouse Management functions, including bin management, put-away & removal strategies, replenishment, process modeling, handling unit & storage management, serial number support, etc.
- Ability to design, configure, enhance, test, and implement SAP EWM solutions independently
- Experience in working with business stakeholders and translating requirements into technical solutions
- Able to influence and achieve alignment across a range of different opinions and interests
- Proficiency in SAP configuration and custom development for EWM
- Excellent analytical, conceptual thinking, planning and execution skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to identify issues, solve them quickly
- Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills
