BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
Direct the general accounting functions for Kubota Credit Corporation (KCC) and other Kubota entities in North America {Kubota North America (KNA), Kubota Insurance Corporation (KIC), Kubota Tractor Acceptance Corporation (KTAC)}, the accounts payable function for the entities listed above as well as Kubota Tractor Corporation (KTC), and the technical accounting function for all the entities listed above. Drive improved efficiency and effectiveness in all areas of responsibility. This position requires understanding of regulatory compliance, the ability to communicate complex ideas, and the personality to be able to work collaboratively with team members from multiple functions.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures and guidelines:
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing, ensuring compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and accounting policies. {KCC, KNA, KIC, KTAC}
• Direct accounting for captive finance company including finance receivables, lessor programs, loss allowance calculations in accordance with CECL, and complex asset-backed securitization financing transactions. {KCC}
• Partner with Treasury Director on the execution of complex financing transactions. {KCC}
• Oversee timely and accurate preparation of quarter-end and year-end financial reporting package to parent company and annual standalone financial statements and disclosures. {KCC, KNA, KIC, KTAC}
• Manage preparation of annual consolidated financial statements by outside accounting firm.
• Oversee accounts payable team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and clearing of aged balances and purchase order invoice exceptions. {KCC, KNA, KIC, KTAC, KTC}
• Coordinate activities with internal and external auditors, including preparation and review of memos, development and implementation of remediation plans, and implementation of internal controls. {KCC, KNA, KIC, KTAC}
• Oversee accounting policies and procedures for all areas of responsibility, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging technology, automation and best practices, to optimize closing processes and financial reporting.
• Serve as the technical accounting expert by providing accounting guidance and support for complex transactions, preparing technical accounting memos, developing adoption plans / processes for new / amended accounting standards, and training employees. {KCC, KNA, KIC, KTAC, KTC}
• Partner with cross-functional teams and leadership to understand and advise on business transactions to ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and accounting policies.
• Manage administrative aspects of the accounting and accounts payable teams including workload distribution, performance evaluation, training, and development opportunities.

SPECIAL PROJECTS
Prepare ad-hoc reports or memorandums and lead or support special projects as directed by leadership.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
• MBA or CPA license preferred.

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:
• 15+ years progressive accounting experience under GAAP. Strong corporate experience within captive finance accounting, lessor accounting, and asset-backed securitization accounting required.
• Experience in calculating, analyzing, documenting, and reporting credit losses using CECL methodologies, ensuring financial statements accurately reflect anticipated risks and exposures.
• 7+ years managing an accounting related department required.
• Strong technical knowledge and experience applying GAAP.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to drive process improvements, work independently, and think objectively.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial concepts to non-financial partners.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Diligent and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to empower and develop a team.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment, with the expectation of increasing responsibility and scope over time as proficiency in the position develops.
