High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years’ experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in wood packaging, carpentry, or related manufacturing.

Strong mechanical skills; electrical and pneumatic knowledge.

Experience operating and maintaining woodworking equipment.

Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.

Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on woodworking machinery, saws, nail guns, conveyors, and other packaging equipment.
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
Maintain cutting tools (saw blades, router bits, etc.).
Ensure machines are set up properly for efficient and safe operation.
Maintain facility infrastructure, including lighting, air compressors, and dust collection systems.
Conduct regular safety inspections and keep maintenance records.
Collaborate with production supervisors to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance.
Assist in the design or modification of jigs, fixtures, and workstations for improved productivity.
Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other issues.
Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Realigns and adjusts components like spindles and clutches.
Removes and replaces worn or defective parts of the drive mechanism or hydraulic system.
Installs and repairs of electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
Starts machines and equipment to test their operation after repair.
Assists the Mechanical Engineer in modifying sketches or computer-generated designs of machine components (e.g., hydraulic systems and drive mechanisms).
Operates cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
Other duties may be assigned.
