Job Description
The Los Angeles office of AECOM is looking for a Senior Interior Designer with Federal experience to join our team.
We design world-class interiors that put people first. Our studio works on a variety of project types in Los Angeles and across the globe, including innovative workplaces, education, sports, federal, and lab projects. Job Responsibilities
Working with us, you will:
- Provide thought leadership, creative visioning, client engagement, design thinking, and mentor and coach staff for growth.
- Lead all stages of the design process, including visioning, programming, concept design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
- Coordinate with consultants, including architectural, lighting, landscape, structural, MEP, AV, and IT.
- Assist management of quality control and team performance for interior projects.
- Manage existing client relationships and develop new project opportunities.
- Provide consistent and timely communication of project information with clients and the project team.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in architecture or interior design plus 6+ years of industry engineering experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Licenses and/or certifications required: NCARB and/or NCIDQ.
- US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the projects.
- Ability to accommodate periodic domestic and international travel for projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of related interior design experience in commercial and governmental interior construction projects preferred.
- Strong preference for talent with 1-2 years of experience on Federal projects. Science & Technology/Lab and Aviation project experience are also helpful.
- Demonstrated experience in working with other disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, telecom, and fire protection.
- Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and Adobe Creative Suites software (InDesign and Photoshop).
- Demonstrated success as a project designer on a range of interiors project types, including workplace, collaborative, and learning environments.
- Demonstrated experience in space planning, building codes, and ADA requirements.
- Experience in programming and DD Form 1391 development and preparation, including information gathering or planning charrettes.
- Working knowledge of contract interiors FF+E market and experience documenting FF+E specifications, estimating costs, and procurement. DoD and non-DoD (GSA, FLC, and/or FLC) experience is a plus.
- Excellent verbal communication and visual presentation skills
- Experience in maintaining fiscal accountability of projects.
- Working knowledge of building codes, standards, and building structures.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills fostering a positive work environment.
- Self-starter, ability to manage and mentor multiple project teams on complex projects.

Additional Information
- The anticipated salary range for this full-time position is $90,000-$130,000 salary annually and is based on individual education, qualifications, and experience.
- Sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Hybrid work with 3 days in office.
