Job Details:

The Building/Groundskeeper Maint BG01 is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of Tyson Foods' buildings and grounds. This role involves performing routine maintenance tasks, ensuring the proper upkeep of facilities, and addressing any issues that may arise to maintain a safe and efficient working environment. 
 
 Description of Primary Duties and Responsibilities
 
     
1. Building Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, and minor repairs to ensure the buildings are in good condition. 
2. Grounds Maintenance: Maintain the exterior grounds, including mowing lawns, trimming bushes, and removing debris to keep the premises clean and presentable. 
3. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. 
4. Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain various tools and equipment required for maintenance tasks, including lawn mowers, trimmers, and hand tools. Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and perform regular maintenance checks. 
5. Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of the facilities and grounds to identify any maintenance needs and address them promptly. Document findings and take corrective actions as necessary. 
6. Reporting: Report any major maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor for further action. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and issues reported. 
7. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations. Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate tasks and share information. 
 
 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required for the Position 
1. Experience: Previous experience in building and grounds maintenance is preferred.

2. Minimum of 1 year of experience in building and grounds maintenance or cumulative maintenance experience in industrial, mechanical, or facility maintenance.

2. Skills: Proficiency in operating maintenance equipment and tools. Basic knowledge of maintenance procedures and safety protocols. 
3. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Must be able to lift 50 lbs regularly. 
4. Communication: Good communication skills to interact with team members and report issues effectively. Must be able to read information relating to the job, including (but not limited to) work assignments, equipment specifications, repair-related information, etc. Must be able to write required information in work logs, PMs, work orders, work notifications, etc. 
5. Mathematical Skills: Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide as needed to make work-related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc. 
6. Technical Knowledge: Must have a basic knowledge in the following areas: electrical, mechanical, and plumbing. Must be able to troubleshoot equipment. 
7. Work Environment: Must be able to work in harsh environments for short periods of time (Ex: Heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, water, mud, etc.). Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, or holidays if required. 
8. Independence: Must be able to work competently and efficiently with minimum supervision. 
9. Essential Functions: Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. 
10. Work Schedule: Position may be an 8-hour / 5-day-per-week position or 12-hour/3½ days a week. 
 
 Training (Equipment & Methods)  
1. Training on Lockout/Tagout is required and tested by the Safety Supervisor/Mgr and/or Maintenance Supervisors. Documentation to be kept in Alchemy or the Workday System. 
2. Monthly training sessions on Safety and GMP topics will be conducted by their immediate supervisor, using information provided by the Safety Manager/Supervisor and QA Manager. 
3. Must be able to be Forklift certified. 

Job Safety Analysis  
1. 1. Personal Protective Equipment includes: steel-toe shoes, long pants, safety glasses (if required), ear protection (if needed), and tools. 
2. 2. Will be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. 
3. 3. Will occasionally be exposed to high, precarious places, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration. 
4. 4. Will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. 
5. 5. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires hearing protection.
