Are you eager to set the technical vision and drive execution for a team creating secure and compliant solutions for government clients?
We’re looking for a Lead Engineer with a strong background in cloud technologies and hands-on expertise in enterprise-grade software development. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with our Engineering Manager, defining best practices and ensuring that our systems meet rigorous performance, security, and compliance standards.
About the role
Architecture & Design: Define and maintain system architectures that leverage AWS cloud services, container orchestration (Kubernetes/Helm), and robust configuration management (Terraform, Ansible/Puppet/Chef).
Hands-On Development: Write clean, efficient code primarily in Python or Java, setting high standards for code quality and performance.
Mentorship & Code Reviews: Guide senior and mid-level engineers through technical challenges, providing constructive feedback and teaching best practices.
Security & Compliance: Incorporate government compliance requirements (e.g., FedRAMP, FIPS) into design and code, collaborating with security teams to remediate vulnerabilities.
Collaboration: Work with the Engineering Manager, product stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on technical priorities and deliverables.
About You
Experience: 6+ years in software engineering, with a track record of leading complex projects and guiding technical teams.
Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of AWS services, container ecosystems (Docker, Kubernetes), and IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet). Proficiency in Python or Java is essential.
Database Proficiency: Comfortable designing and managing relational databases (e.g., Postgres).
Problem-Solving: Adept at diagnosing complex architectural or performance issues and designing scalable solutions.
Communication & Leadership: Clear, organized, and persuasive in discussions with engineers and stakeholders alike.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with large-scale enterprise systems or government-regulated environments.
Background in automating CI/CD pipelines for secure deployments.
Familiarity with AWS GovCloud services.
