About the role

Description

The Parts Counter Sales Associate is responsible for facilitating customer needs and requests in a way that is informative, productive and efficient. The Parts Counter Sales Associate provides support, directly or indirectly, to the customer by utilizing knowledge of the organization's products and services and helps customers locate the parts they need and educate them about part function.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Informs customer of unit prices, shipping date, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by customer.
  • Enters data into computer, to determine total cost for customer.
  • Records orders received according to expected delivery date.
  • Checks inventory control and places order to replenish stock
  • Checks in freight and supports service department with parts needs.
  • Perform, research & reconcile cycle counts daily.
  • Follows up on orders to ensure delivery by specified dates.
  • Attempts to sell additional merchandise to customer.
  • Answer phones and return messages left for parts department

Requirements

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Parts and Ag experience preferred. 



Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Language Ability:

Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Write simple correspondence. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees.


Mathematical Ability:

Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.



Computer Skills:

Basic computer skills needed. Experience in Office 365 preferred.
