Electrical Engineer Technician

 

SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and practical Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team. As an Electrical Engineering Technician, you will apply your knowledge of electrical theory and principles to construct, test, and modify electrical components, equipment, and systems. Your work will be focused on solving technical problems and performing practical tasks related to electrical engineering.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily:

 

• Construct, test, and modify electrical components, equipment, products, and services using electrical theory and related knowledge.
• Apply principles and theories of science, engineering, and mathematics to solve technical problems.
• Assemble and test low voltage experimental devices, switch panels, PCBs, transformers, solenoids, and other electrical equipment and components based on engineering data and electrical principles.
• Modify electrical prototypes to correct functional deviations.
• Diagnose the cause of electrical or mechanical malfunctions or failures in operational equipment, product, and test fixtures, and perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Develop wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment modifications, and provide guidance to personnel performing installation and maintenance duties.
• Plan, direct, and record periodic electrical testing, and recommend or initiate equipment modification or replacement if it fails to meet acceptable operating standards.
• Assist in product evaluation and testing, using measuring and diagnostic devices to adjust, test, and repair equipment.
• Conform to the organization’s ISO 9001 & 14001 requirements, and industry regulatory requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

 

• Associate degree or certification in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field.
• Proven experience in constructing, testing, and modifying electrical components and equipment.
• Solid understanding of electrical theory, principles, and mathematics.
• Proficiency in interpreting electrical diagrams and engineering specifications.
• Hands-on experience in assembling and testing electrical devices and equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

 

Education and/or Experience:

• Must hold a minimum of an associate of Science degree in technical discipline with 5 years experience OR 10 years experience OR any relevant combination of experience and education demonstrating proficiency in the requirements of the role 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field.
• Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Familiarity with product evaluation and testing procedures.
• Understanding of electrical system design and installation.
• Production test automation experience.
