Description

It is the responsibility of the Production Planner/Scheduler to plan, coordinate, and communicate the capacities and schedules of all departments and work centers using the principles of lean manufacturing. The main goal is to help ensure maximum plant efficiencies, provide excellent customer service and support optimum inventory levels.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, analyze, evaluate and suggest changes to the production schedules, emphasizing the efficient utilization of available materials and capacities while meeting existing and anticipated customer demands.
  • Analyze material and maintain master data to reflect current demand.
  • Create and maintain work instructions as part of the ISO accreditation.
  • Coordinate the release of select expedited work orders to the shop floor with the appropriate personnel, insuring there is sufficient material and capacity to complete the work orders in the established time frame.
  • Suggest changes to production processes or structures, changing work flows of substituting components to meet existing requirements.
  • Review the results of the collective release of jobs to determine and update production order dates.
  • Create necessary views for new parts.
  • Create and maintain routings.
  • Work with Cumberland facility to coordinate the planning and receipt of elements.
  • Conduct intercompany material expedites.
  • Follow up and communicate on the appropriate line items on shortage list.
  • Review failed goods movements and correct.
  • Coordinate manufacturing function of the RGA process.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.
  • Work overtime as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and PIC experience is required.
  • Three + years in a manufacturing environment preferred, especially with production planning or scheduling experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent knowledge of ERP software, SAP experience is a plus.
  • Two + years’ experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Certificates and Licenses:
  • APICS certification or willingness to achieve.
