Responsible for supporting the Global Financial Crimes Compliance Testing (“GFCCT”) function in executing coordinated, consistent, and risk-based AML, Sanctions, and ABC programs testing that evaluates routinely financial crimes program design and implementation efforts to detect risk and control concerns and escalate matters to aid timely risk mitigation and control enhancement.
Major Responsibilities:
Executes coordinated, consistent, and risk-based AML, Sanctions, and ABC programs testing activities.
Executes the routine evaluation of financial crimes program design and implementation efforts to detect risk and control concerns and escalate matters to aid timely risk mitigation and control enhancement for MUFG Bank, Ltd. branches, assessment units, and/or line of business regionally.
Supports the manager/testing lead-in-charge of all facets of compliance testing engagements.
Opportunities to engage directly with management with a goal to independently lead end-to-end compliance testing reviews, applying the Bank’s testing methodology for MUFG Bank locations globally.
Opportunities to play a leading role and provide guidance to analysts in coordinating with Issues Management for monitoring and tracking resolution of testing findings, including validating actions taken to resolve previously identified issues.
Engages with stakeholders during reviews and provide credible challenge to ensure financial crimes and/or regulatory compliance controls are adequately evaluated.
Develops and refines test scripts and sampling methodologies that incorporate regulatory expectations, industry developments, and lessons learned from regulatory findings and internally identified issues by compliance testing and internal audit.
Assists in the preparation of information requests and stakeholder’s initial notifications.
Drafts planning memos summarizing the objectives, scope, and timelines of the reviews.
Performs assigned field work to validate the efficacy of internal controls.
Prepares cohesive work papers for each engagement in accordance with the testing procedure.
Identifies underlying issues and validates them with stakeholders.
Drafts reports summarizing the objectives, scope, findings, and conclusions of completed testing for issuance to management.
Supports the quality control processes to drive adherence to Global Compliance Testing Standard and Procedure.
Escalates issues identified, reviews Action Plans, and assists in the coordination of monitoring and tracking of the identified issues.
Supports and assists with testing management routines and ensures proper awareness of testing review results through reporting and other means.
Stay abreast of developments, such as regulatory changes, which may necessitate ad-hoc testing.
Assists in general compliance activities, other duties, and any other strategic initiatives including special projects as assigned.
Opportunities to play a leading role in financial crimes and/or regulatory compliance related projects and engage with global and regional compliance management in the implementation of a coordinated, consistent, and risk-based testing program; and to provide coaching and day-today training of junior staff members as required.
Supports in the drive of central coordination, governance, and reporting, leveraging regional structures and best practices.
