Protects UM security of employees, facilities and proprietary products by monitoring personnel, visitors, physical plant and product movement Provides expert security guidance to local management team and local user base. Implements and maintains the facility's industrial security program. Provides hiring, promotion and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports.

Nationality Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.

Job Description

The Facility Security Officer (FSO) will provide expertise, guidance and advice to the Ultra Electronics executive management team. Successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for all industrial security concerns, and ensure security is perceived as a critical process. This position requires excellent professional judgment and discretion, as well as the identification, analysis, recommendations, and implementation of actions to be taken in security-related matters. The FSO is responsible for implementing and maintaining the facility's industrial security program and ensuring compliance. The FSO should have in-depth knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual/32 CFR§117 (NISPOM) and experience with the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA).

  • Serve as the FSO for the Columbia City facility and manage the security program 

  • Primary POC personnel security matters with DCSA

  • Serves as the Insider Threat Program Special Officer (ITPSO)

  • Provide clear guidance to company employees, and recommend modifications to operations policies or procedures as appropriate at all sites

  • Manage the security aspects of various U.S. Government agencies’ classified programs

  • Interface with prime contractors and government customers on security related issues

  • Prepare and maintain all documentation required to obtain and maintain a Facility Clearance

  • Perform maintenance in Defense Information System for Security (DISS) 

  • Prepare and review DD254s to ensure adherence to classified programs

  • Develop and administer a comprehensive security education, training, and awareness program for both cleared and non-cleared personnel, to include Initial & Annual Security Refresher, Insider Threat Program, and Quarterly Security Newsletters

  • Respond to emergency alarm calls off hours

  • Investigate and report security violations and incidents and work closely with Program Managers, employees and management to develop appropriate corrective actions 

  • Perform required self-inspections of security program, resolving possible security violations and initiating measures to correct security deficiencies

  • Process visit requests for personnel and International visit requests

  • Ensures up-to-date security knowledge through training, security meetings, and security-related memberships

  • Assist ISSM, ISSO on classified IS

  • Supervise Security team 

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • FSO Certification or obtain within 6 months

  • Must have or be able to obtain a US Government Top Secret clearance. Security clearances are granted to US Citizens

  • 10+ years industrial security experience with government contract
