Pay Range:

$16.80 - $23.10

All internship positions are designed to give college students an opportunity to apply techniques learned in an academic setting while obtaining new skills. This is a paid internship offering full-time hours during the summer months. All interns are required to conclude the program by giving a formal presentation on their work. Please note that no relocation assistance or sponsorship is provided for the internship program at this time. 

 

Position Summary: 

Asuragen is seeking a degree-level scientist who can work as part of our Molecular Controls and Custom Reagents manufacturing groupThis business unit designs, develops and manufactures Armored® RNA and DNA targets and additional high-quality molecular control reagents for clients upon requestWe follow cGMP standards to ensure product consistency and customer satisfactionThe controls we manufacture are used externally to support clinical testing and diagnostic products and internally to support new product development.  

This is a paid internship. $18/hr based out of our Austin, TX facility.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • With minimal supervision, perform assigned tasks and report results. 

  • Communicate effectively within the team, Department, and interdepartmentally.  

  • Maintain detailed notes of test plans and results. 

  • Manage daily laboratory tasks such as inventory and maintenance. 

  • Cross-train to learn basic production and quality control processes.  

  • Remain compliant with all laws and regulations associated with developing and manufacturing FDA regulated products 

 

Program Requirements: 

  • Must be a currently enrolled student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the internship 

  • Must have completed (at minimum) the sophomore year of college 

  • Must be able to work full-time during the duration of the internship program 

 

Experience Qualifications: 

  • Degree not required, previous laboratory experience preferred 

  • Highly driven with a strong motivation to succeed; strong work ethics. 

  • Collaborative and approachable manner that encourages interactions with others. 

  • Good communicator, effective communication skills and strong presentation skills. 

  • Good problem solving and analytical skills. 

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities. 

  • Learning-oriented with the ability to quickly grasp and implement new concepts/approaches. 

  • Familiarity with RNA extraction a plus. 

  • Competent
