Remote work is allowed. Client travel is variable, depending on type of client and project. On average, up to 25-50% client travel is required.
Role Overview
To support our rapid growth, we seek an experienced Engagement Manager to join Chartis in our High-Reliability Care Solutions (HRC) practice, aligned to Performance Transformation line of business. This colleague will be instrumental in our medical staff bylaws and peer review work as well as in other quality, safety, and regulatory work across HRC.
Engagement Managers are integral members of our consulting teams, leading Analysts, Associate Consultants and Consultants on projects with healthcare provider clients typically spanning 3-6 months in duration. Within our HRC practice, we have several offerings all focused on improving quality, safety, and reliability. We are seeking an Engagement Manager to work on Bylaws, Peer Review, Rules & Regulations projects primarily, but also support the practice in our other areas (regulatory compliance, clinical quality, and patient safety).
Our typical Bylaws, Peer Review, Rules & Regulations engagements bring together colleagues from across the firm (e.g., Clinical, Greeley, HRC - Compliance) to deliver comprehensive and sustainable enterprise transformation services to help our clients meet their clinical, financial, and operational goals.
Responsibilities
Lead the problem-solving process and day-to-day management of engagement teams, including overseeing teams’ analysis and deliverables, often coordinating with subcontractors as well as consulting team members.
Apply thought leadership to client engagements, generating actionable insights that drive meaningful improvement for the firm’s clients, developing frameworks and approaches with broad potential impact
Build and maintain client relationships drawing upon medical staff services, peer review, and accreditation knowledge and insights to address issues within and beyond the scope of specific consulting engagements.
Create sophisticated, compelling communications that motivate clients to action.
Act as a coach and mentor to junior staff, rapidly developing their skills and knowledge through an apprenticeship-based development model.
Help build the firm’s portfolio of business through support of client proposals, participation in industry events, and other marketing activities.
Contribute to firm initiatives focused on talent (e.g., recruiting, training), knowledge (e.g., IP development, white papers), and other core areas.
Research trends and provide guidance about regulatory and accreditation requirements and best practices for medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations.
Ability to translate regulatory and accreditation requirements for medical staff into work products.
Support client engagements across HRC service offerings, with opportunities to contribute to Compliance, Quality & Safety, and other practice areas based on business needs.
Qualifications and Desired Skills
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 6 years of experience working with medical staffs and/or in medical staff services on operational initiatives, including review and revision of medical staff bylaws, developing medical staff policies and procedures, and/or supporting medical staff committees (e.g., Medical Executive Committee, Credentials Committee, Peer Review Committee, etc.)
Minimum of 3+ years managing others
Experience in leading comprehensive engagements or leading work teams within the overall engagement
Experience in medical staff services
A strong understanding of medical executive committee meetings, bylaws and medical staff
