Mentor Teacher

DESCRIPTION:                                                 

Minimum of 2 consecutive hours of required afterschool meetings per month.                                                                                

Exemplary teacher with excellent evaluations; Evidence of academic success; Demonstrates ability to plan, deliver and assess instruction; Current knowledge base State/district/school policies; Understanding of research, best practices, and pedagogy; Evidence of ability to collaborate and lead within a learning community; Demonstrates ability to communicate and articulate; Successful working experience with adults; Proven leadership skills; Empathetic and supportive; Confidential and trustworthy; Enthusiastic, caring and available

Topics to be covered include classroom management, objectives, content standards, goal writing and accomplishments, expectations, stress management, and IEP goal explanations, guidelines, and teaching.

QUALIFICATIONS:                                         

Professional WV Teaching Certification with a minimum of 5 years teaching experience in subject area to be mentored, and Completion/Verification of Teacher Mentor Training, PREFERRED        

SALARY:                                                             

$750 per year
