JOB SUMMARY:
The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for providing both individual and group clinical supervision to Master’s level counseling student interns. In collaboration with the CPO and DCPO, the Clinical Supervisor will develop the Center’s new clinical training program for Master’s level counseling and social work students. This program will train student clinicians to become affirming, inclusive providers for the LGBTQ+ community. This program will provide free therapeutic counseling for LGBTQ+ youth 13-24 and adults, with the expressed goals of suicide prevention, increased sense of belonging and positive mental health outcomes. The Clinical Supervisor will assist with the day-to-day operations of the Mental Health Department, which include tasks such as relationship building with universities, growing contracts between the Center and clinical student programs, recruiting clinical students, provide mental health subject-specific training, grant reporting, and other administrative duties related to mental health programming. The Clinical Supervisor also ensures that clinical supervision and documentation are reviewed and completed within the Center's standards and professional guidelines and works with universities to ensure compliance with learning contracts and documentation. The Clinical Supervisor will also provide crisis intervention and counseling services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develop and implement the Center’s new student clinical training program, in collaboration with Senior Leadership.
2. Effectively lead and manage the student clinical training program, ensuring compliance and quality affirming care.
3. Provide crisis counseling and therapeutic services as needed.
Develop and implement the Center’s new student clinical training program, in collaboration with Senior Leadership:
1. Build relationships with university clinical programs, grow collaborative clinical counseling university contracts and ensure compliance with university requirements.
2. Recruit Master’s level clinical students who are motivated to serve the LGBTQ+ community, including youth ages 13-24, and passionate about becoming inclusive and affirming clinicians.
3. Review and complete necessary university clinical supervisor training and documentation to become an approved clinical site for students.
4. Maintain licensure in good standing and ensure compliance with BBS guidelines for providing clinical supervision.
Effectively lead and manage the student clinical training program, ensuring compliance and quality affirming care:
1. Provide clinical supervision of master’s level trainees/interns, both individual and group
2. Provide ongoing training for students to increase clinical learning with trauma-informed, inclusive and culturally responsive therapeutic modalities and provision of affirming therapeutic techniques and services.
3. Review and complete client and university documentation within the Center’s and professional/BBS guidelines.
4. Assist with day-to-day mental health department operations and administrative duties, including grant reporting, and counselor compliance with policies and protocols.
5. Provide onboarding, training, and consultation to staff and student interns/trainees.
6. Assist with the university partnership agreements and the recruitment of new counseling interns/trainees.
7. Provide support, guidance, and training to agency staff and students as needed.
8. Represent the agency in a professional manner with universities and community partners.
9. Submit timesheets and university documentation, including student learning contracts, in a timely manner, per agency and university requirements.
10. Provide coverage for Mental Health Program Manager duties, as needed.
