Purpose/Introduction

The Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHS&S) Department manages our environmental performance, assures regulatory compliance and drives Our Journey to Zero, the company’s blueprint to achieve our goal to eliminate events that could inflict serious–or even fatal–injuries to employees or contractors, or result in severe process safety events.

Responsibilities

  • Work in conjunction with Human Resources Department to schedule/reschedule/follow up on random drug screening
  • Conduct medical surveillance testing such as blood draws, vision, pulmonary fit test, respirator fit test, EKGs, audiograms and urine collection
  • Conduct 3M EARfit testing for hearing conservation program/ may include coordinating fitting and ordering plugs
  • Assist with first aid injuries and telehealth
  • Assist in company return to work procedures
  • Assist with the coordination the procurement of supplies required to maintain the operation of the medical department 
  • Prepare employees files for medical visits [e.g., completion of questionnaires and test packets, and upload information into Cority (medical database)]
  • Package samples, handle mail, and arrange for medical waste, lab, and sample pickup
  • Maintain employee health records, using the medical database
  • Perform medical instrument/equipment calibrations and maintain records
  • Assist with wellness programs

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent  
  • 2 years of experience in occupational health setting, EMT or Paramedic
  • Certified and/or have the ability to be certified in Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) and Random Urine Drug Screen (DOT), pulmonary, and CAOHC certification for hearing testing
  • Must be familiar with medical filing systems and have thorough knowledge and proficiency in using most Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to handle difficult personnel situations and be able to maintain strict confidentiality and privacy and have experience with a HIPAA covered entity
  • Ability to interact with others and work in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Cority medical software platform 
  • Experience with OSHA recordkeeping and reporting occupational injuries and illness
  • EMT certification or ability to obtain within the first 18 months of employment in the role
  • HazMat Tech certified
  • Trained/certified in incident investigation methodologies (Root Cause Analysis, Why Tree, 5 why, etc.)
