The Accounts Payable Manager plays a key leadership role within Belle Tire's Shared Services Accounting team. This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing AP team, partner cross-functionally across the business, and make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The Accounts Payable Manager is hands-on in daily operations while also driving process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability as the company continues to grow.
What You'll Do
- Manages a staff of 9 accounts payable analysts in a high-volume environment. This includes evaluating, training, hiring and mentoring staff. Assessing staffing workload along with re-defining job responsibilities as needed.
- Processing of accounts payable for select vendors.
- Manages monthly closing procedures of accounts payable.
- Support team with day-to-day operational inquiries.
- Prepares accounts payable check previews and check runs.
- Prepares analysis of accounts, work with accounts payable associates on problems vendors, as required.
- Ensure that the Company's written processes and procedures are documented and current.
- Reviews accounts payable documents prepared by analysts for accuracy, completeness and compliance to policy.
- Review monthly accounts payable aging.
- 1099 reporting
- Analyze the workflow process and identify opportunities to automate manually intensive tasks as well as identify other ways to improve productivity within the department.
What We're Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Five or more years of accounts payable experience
- Two or more years of management experience
- Proficient in SAP
- Strong computer skills -- proficient in Excel
- Good communication skills for interacting with employees and management
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
- Ability to work in a fast paced and high volume environment
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Collaborative and customer service oriented work style
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a retail-based company
Work Environment
The position is based in an office environment, requiring periods of sitting and the operation of standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and other office tools. Work hours are typically 8-5, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours a
