Our engineers and professionals provide Highway Design and Traffic Engineering, Bridge and Structural Engineering, Civil Design, Surveying and Mapping, Pipeline and Associated Facility Design, Geotechnical/Geophysical, Environmental Studies and Water/Wastewater design.

We are currently seeking a Construction Survey Crew Chief to join our team in our Canonsburg, PA office location. As a Construction Survey Crew Chief you will provide quality surveying services to our clients to ensure construction survey work complies with design drawings and specifications. You will perform survey measurements for location, stake-out, layout and "as-built" surveys. You will provide survey support to job site personnel as required throughout the course of a projects that you are assigned to.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform multiple types of land surveys ranging from, construction staking, boundary, ALTA, and topographic & utility survey
• Must excel in construction staking
• Proficient in operating Trimble surveying equipment and data collectors
• Ability to transfer survey data to the proper files in the company network and acquire data for field use
• Professional communication with clients, contractors, and teammates
• Ability to interpret design plans for construction/staking/laying out
• Identify hazardous situation and apply company safety procedures
• Perform calculations to reduce field notes, download data collectors, and provide quality control of construction staking
• Organize and maintain efficiency of field survey crew to ensure timely completion of specific jobs
• Communicate site details and work with Project Managers, Engineers, Architects, Construction Field Managers, etc. 
• Ability to utilize dimensions from prints and plans to calculate exact layout locations of new construction footprints, piers, footings, walls, anchor bolts placement, paving, sidewalks, curbs, light pole bases
• Have a strong understanding of CAD processes and be able to create stakeout points in data collector and Carlson and or Civil3D

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Minimum education required: High School Diploma
• 5+ years of land survey experience in a construction environment
• CST and FAA’s Part 107 certification a plus, but not required
• Ability to accurately measure distances and angles, using land survey measuring devices
• Ability to carry, climb and operate equipment, in all weather environments (approx. 50 pounds)
• Strong understanding of construction methods and practices
• Experience performing construction layout in the field and a knowledge of construction plans and the ability to work in the office from time to time is a plus
• Valid driver’s license required
