The Associate Administrator plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the administrative, revenue cycle, credentialing, and operational infrastructure that supports the Department of Radiology. This position ensures the seamless integration of clinical and administrative workflows by coordinating with internal departments and external vendors to maintain accuracy and compliance.

Job Description

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Provide strategic oversight and support to practice managers, administrative staff, and coding professionals to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee radiology coding and billing processes for hospital and professional services, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reimbursement.
  • Manage patient complaints, assist with resolutions as necessary.
  • Manage end-to-end credentialing processes for all providers, including application submissions, documentation tracking, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain credentialing databases and ensure timely updates for all affiliated radiologists and external partners.
  • Serve as a liaison for physician support, addressing operational concerns and facilitating smooth integration into practice workflows.
  • Administer external service contracts, including invoicing, reporting, and compliance oversight for partnerships such as the City of Philadelphia Health Care Centers.
  • Ensure vendor performance and accountability through regular audits and collaborative issue resolution. Review invoices and verify accuracy.
  • Develop, implement, and refine policies and procedures to enhance efficiency, consistency, and quality across outpatient practices and radiology divisions.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce variability, and improve service delivery.
  • Oversight of provider scheduling, including on-call, holiday, and moonlighting shifts.
  • Oversee payroll processes for various provider arrangements, ensuring accuracy and timely submission of reports and invoices.
  • Partner with departments such as Revenue Integrity, EPIC, and IT to support system enhancements, resolve operational issues, and implement new procedures and locations.
  • Identify areas of operational efficiency and develop plan of action to improve workflows
  • Facilitate communication and coordination across clinical, administrative, and technical teams to support organizational initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or related field required

Master’s degree (e.g., MHA, MBA) preferred

Minimum of 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in administrative operations, preferably in a healthcare environment.
