About This Role
We are seeking a bright, skilled, and highly motivated Sr Associate Scientist to join the Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) & Genetic Technologies Lab in the Genomic Targets Biology group. You will provide NGS and other genetic data to support research, early development, and manufacturing.
What You’ll Do
- Generate NGS sequencing libraries from RNA and DNA samples both manually and using automation. Quantify and QC libraries using LabChip, Bioanalyzer, and/or qPCR
- Generate high quality data on Illumina instruments (NovaSeq, MiSeq)
- Generate sequencing libraries and data for specialized protocols including long read platforms, and single cell RNA-seq
- Independently troubleshoot issues with library preparation and sequencer operation and deliver data within required timelines
- Collaborate with team to optimize RNA/DNA-seq processes
- Attend project meetings, work with multiple teams across diverse projects to generate data within needed timelines

Qualifications
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in scientific discipline with 2+ years’ experience OR Master's degree in scientific discipline with 0+ years
- 2+ years’ experience with molecular biology techniques such as PCR, qPCR, primer design, cloning, DNA & RNA extraction, or ddPCR
- Experience/familiarity with sequencing library preparation, library QC
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle projects with large sample numbers
- Ability to multitask and carry forward multiple projects
Preferred Skills
- Operation of Illumina sequencing instruments
- Experience with single cell RNA seq and/or long read seq platforms
- Experience with a common automation platforms (BioMek, Tecan, SciClone, etc).
