Actuary III, Medicare Advantage Bid Pricing

Our Actuarial team is composed of collaborative and strategic thinkers who are passionate about the impact that actuarial science can have on healthcare. In this role, you will partner and help support a core area of responsibility for our Actuarial team.
As an Actuary III, you will:
- Develop and implement competitive and compliant bid pricing strategies for Medicare Advantage plans.
- Ensure compliance with Medicare Advantage bid requirements through thorough analysis and interpretation of regulatory guidance.
- Conduct detailed data analysis to support actuarial assumptions and decision-making processes, ensuring appropriate documentation.
- Assess the impact of product design changes on bid pricing and overall financial performance.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, product, and compliance, to incorporate organizational goals into pricing decisions.
- Support forecasting and budgeting efforts, including the development and maintenance of necessary reserves.
Success in this role looks like:
- In your first 90 days: You have developed a solid grasp of bid pricing strategies and Medicare Advantage regulations, begun enhancing documentation and data analysis practices, and established initial integration with cross-functional teams. You are actively familiarizing yourself with forecasting and budgeting processes.
- Within your first 6 months: You have developed a strong understanding of bid pricing strategies and processes, confidently performing analytics to support the bidding process while maintaining standardized documentation. You have strengthened cross-functional collaboration and made significant contributions to accurate forecasting and budgeting.
- Future success: You are optimizing bid pricing strategies, proactively adapting to regulatory changes, and positioning the company as a leader in Medicare Advantage. You drive innovative product design, consistently maintain best practices in data analysis, collaboration, and financial forecasting, demonstrating a high level of expertise and strategic impact.
You should get in touch if:
- You have 5 years or more of actuarial or other analytical experience; Medicare experience is required.
- You have achieved or close to achieving an ASA designation.
- You have a proficient level of programming skills, such as in SQL or R.
- You have experience with financial forecasting and budgeting.
