Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional client service to our clients by identifying historic tax credit opportunities
- Assist clients with state and local tax applications, which includes preparing clients for discussions with regulators
- Research and draft Part 1 applications and National Register nominations
- Provide expertise on American History, Architectural History or related field.
- Assist managers and consultants by preparing federal Historic Preservation Certification Application Parts 1, 2, and 3;
- Respond to client inquiries and requests from State Historic Preservation Office and National Park Service regulators
- Review documentation and research issues
- Work with raw data to identify tax credit opportunities
Education and Experience:
- Working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in American History, Architectural History, Historic Preservation, or Architectural Design with a historic concentration.
- Anticipated graduation date within one year of internship

- Strong problem solving, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in historical and online research.
- Ability to describe historic concepts, relate events, people and objects in historic context and present historic arguments through strong writing.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels.
- Ability to travel for site visits.
- Intermediate knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, and etc.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid driver's license required.
