What will you do?

As a Software Engineering Manager in our San Diego office, you will be working to lead and grow a team with industry-leading software engineering capabilities. Your primary role will be to grow and develop the team’s capabilities while providing technical leadership. You will also function as a technical lead on projects involving software engineering.

Essential Job Functions:

People Leadership

• Manage a team of 3-5 software engineers
• Foster team collaboration and high technical performance with a people-first approach
• Mentor, motivate, and develop the software engineering team
• Assess performance and constructively coach, setting goals for individuals
• Align individual career paths and goals with group goals and company business strategy

Project & Technical Leadership

• Serve as technical lead on projects involving software needs for a diverse range of industries, applications, and clients
• Communication with, and control of, hardware, both custom and third party, is a frequent facet of Quartus software projects
• Delegate, oversee, and review project work
• Provide code reviews for other engineers working on the project
• Pull request approvals for merges and releases
• Run sprint planning meetings
• Perform technical work on the more challenging aspects of projects
• Provide high level architectural design/review
• Direct hands-on contribution as required
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers
• Contribute to sales efforts by writing proposals, presenting engineering capabilities, and assisting business development team with meeting, conference, and marketing content support
• Interact with clients, including building, developing, and growing business relationships

Location

Position is based in San Diego, CA with a hybrid schedule.

What are we looking for?

·         BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar Engineering field

·         8+ years of industry experience

o   >2 years experience in personnel/team management

·         Experience with .NET C#, C/C++

·         Strong understanding of design principles, methodologies and patterns (i.e. MVVM, Producer/Consumer, Factory, etc.)

·         Proven ability to develop and manage engineers

·         Demonstrated ability to work in and lead a technical team

·         Project management experience (technical & programmatic leadership)

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Comfortable making presentations in front of customers, sr. leadership and larger audiences

·         Experience developing business proposals and/or support sales organization to win and develop new business

·         Must be US Person (US Citizen or US Permanent Resident)

Compensation and Benefits

Software Engineering Manager pay range:

Minimum: $126,070

Mid Point: $164,797

Maximum: $205,997

*This pay range represents base pay. In addition, you may be eligible for additional benefits and compensation.
