We are looking to hire top talent to join our dynamic team! ND Paper offers full benefits and a competitive compensation. We are currently seeking an experienced OCC Pulping Supervisor to join our team at the Biron Division in Wisconsin Rapids.
The OCC Pulping Supervisor will work under the direction of the Pulp & Power General Superintendent. This is a full-time salaried position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to meet/exceed key performance metrics in the areas of safety, sustainability, quality, cost and production with direct responsibilities over OCC pulping areas.
- Directly supervise the activities of the departments’ crews. Facilitate development plans for all employees in each area of responsibility.
- Monitor controllable costs for all areas of responsibility and recommend corrective action as necessary.
- Facilitate planning and organization for proper maintenance and upkeep in all areas of responsibility.
- Maintain harmonious relations with employees by administering contract provisions and company policies to avoid breach of contract, to ensure conformance to work rules and regulations; assist as needed in the handling of labor relations, including first stage grievances and disciplinary actions.
- Coordinate training and development of the OCC crews to achieve effective operation.
- Maintain the mill’s Quality and Environmental systems within this position’s area of responsibility, as outlined in the appropriate documentation.
- Fully support mill safety programs to create a safe work environment where no one gets hurt.
- Deliver high quality product to internal customers, work closely with paper machine team to produce pulp that meets their needs.
- Maintain effective communications and working relationships with paper production, suppliers, maintenance, IT, environmental, HR, sales and marketing, research, engineering, and purchasing.
- Lead the OCC Pulping areas in Operational Excellence efforts at the Biron mill including the continuous improvement and mill best practice programs.
- Participate in the development, deployment, engagement, and optimization of the leadership development program.
- Direct process optimization activities and margin enhancement activities within OCC pulping departments.
- Drive technical issue resolution and cost savings activities in the OCC pulping areas.
- Support the development of KPI program for the OCC pulping areas.
- Provide on-call and weekend duty coverage within a designated rotation.
Required Experience:
- B.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Paper Science Engineering or 5 years’ experience in OCC related field
- Leadership that instills confidence and credibility with all employees
