Position Title: Business Process Project Manager
The Position:Makpar has an exciting opportunity for a Business Process Project Manager (PM) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with a high performing team of technical and business experts on a Federal Government agency project deploying cutting edge technologies. The PM will work closely with our client to gain an in-depth understanding of their mission, processes, services, roadmap and the context in which they operate. The primary focus of this role will be to help set up a new branch and any operational processes that may be needed.  The ideal candidate possesses a unique blend of leadership, project management and business process skills. 

Role Specific Duties:

  • Provide leadership to the project team and conduct day to day management to ensure that the process management activities are on schedule and attaining its objectives
  • Guide agency and internal teams in stakeholder meetings, work sessions, and support strategy development, building charter and modernization plan etc.
  • Lead and facilitate working groups, teams, and work with stakeholders to develop business plan.
  • Develop and present process status and recommendations, including presentations, process models, supporting metrics, business requirements, etc.
  • Facilitate the definition and improvement of IT processes with a focus on Systems Operations and Maintenance processes
  • Responsible for actual performance against standards, to determine whether a activities are on target, and take corrective actions or escalate as necessary. Identify, manage and resolve dependencies, issues and risks between within the project
  • Develop process improvement plans incorporating strategies from a variety of industry leading approaches, including Traditional Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), ITIL, Agile, etc.
  • Handle multiple, concurrent projects of moderate or complex scope and effectively communicate progress to team members and stakeholders.
  • Work with relevant government stakeholders and business process owners to assure project implementation and milestone exits are on schedule and in accordance with the business requirement needs and goals
  • Act as a mentor for other members of the project team
  • Execute any other project related duties that may be assigned from time to time

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university within preferred field of study in Computer Science or Business Management.
  • Must be capable of taking full ownership of the project’s assignments.
  • Must be able to firmly align project resources and stakeholders as to the agreed upon project deliverables.
  • Must be skilled at effective techniques for requirements elicitation, analysis and categorization of business requirements and translation into optimized business process flows, business use cases, and activity diagrams.
  • Good understanding of software development lifecycles (traditional and agile).
  • Familiarity with principles of information systems security.
  • Superior organization and project management skills with ability to meet tight deadlines and adapt plans through change.
  • Capable of connecting the dots at a high level, comfortable identifying and solving problems while maintaining progress.
  • Capacity to work well under pressure and independently handle activities with minimal supervision
  • Must possess excellent oral and writing skills with prior experience in documentation of processes and procedures.
  • Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years and be Federal Tax compliant.
