Health Administration Resident/Fellowship - Duke Primary Care

Duke Primary Care Administrative Fellowship Program

Established in 2016, the Duke Primary Care (DPC) Administrative Fellowship is a two-year program designed for master’s-prepared early-careerists seeking hands-on experience in ambulatory care management. Fellows rotate through key operational areas within one of the nation’s largest academic primary care networks, which spans over 7 counties and serves nearly 400,000 lives. The program provides immersive project work and executive engagement to develop competencies in areas such as financial management, quality improvement, patient experience, population health, and more. It is designed to prepare future leaders in ambulatory care.

Work Performed

DPC Fellowship – Year 1:

Fellows engage in a hybrid experience that includes exposure to practice leadership, engagement in ambulatory network management, shadowing opportunities across the health system, and a broad range of project work.

DPC Fellowship – Year 2:

Fellows align their professional interests and career goals with Duke Primary Care’s strategic priorities, selecting a specific area of focus for continued project work or an extended rotation.
