Inspection of Aircraft Parts and Components

Overview: This role involves meticulous inspection of aircraft parts/components and materials, adhering to established procedures, methods, practices, and safety standards. It requires a thorough understanding of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and involves reviewing and auditing technical records that support the airworthiness of all aircraft and components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on technical data and perform inspections of aircraft in various maintenance stages, including heavy maintenance checks, flightline/storage induction, reactivation, and back shop repair/overhaul maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with aircraft/component maintenance manuals, FAA regulations, and company policies.
• Uphold Quality Control standards in material receiving, shipping, storage, handling, repairs, and overhaul, ensuring adherence to quality, tolerances, specifications, and standards set by the company and manufacturers.
• Inspect aircraft components during assembly, installation, and adjustment to verify conformity with manufacturers' specifications and maintenance manual procedures.
• Document all work-in-progress accurately, ensuring proper technical data references are recorded.
• Record inspection data appropriately and report any irregularities in standard practices that could lead to personnel injury or compromise aircraft safety.
• Perform maintenance work on company equipment and maintain shop cleanliness.
• Utilize various tools and equipment to inspect aircraft connections and components, ensuring compliance with Civil Air Regulations and company specifications.
• Log all inspections performed on aircraft.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in aircraft inspection and previous leadership experience in an inspection role.
• Certifications: A&P License and a valid driver’s license.
• Skills: Organizational and planning skills, attention to detail, mathematical proficiency, proficiency in English (both written and verbal), technical data interpretation, and practical problem-solving abilities.
• Education/Training: High School diploma or equivalent, with post-secondary education or training in aircraft maintenance preferred.
• Other: Flexibility to work at different locations as required.

Miscellaneous:

• Physical Demands: Involves standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, and lifting weights up to 50 lbs.
• Equipment Operated: Includes ladders, stands, hi-lifts, flashlights, borescopes, magnifying glasses, and standard office equipment.
• Work Location: Aircraft maintenance hangar, maintenance offices, Flightline.
• Potential Hazards: Exposure to noise, temperature variations, materials listed on Safety Data Sheets, and working in potentially hazardous environments.
• Protective Equipment: Goggles, safety glasses, face shields, ear protection, aprons, gloves, safety harnesses, breathing equipment.
