Job Duties

Position provides professional preventive and corrective maintenance for physical plant and grounds of the Academy for Staff Development Central campus. This position performs advanced HVAC and refrigeration work in the installation, repair, and maintenance of the facility’s HVAC and refrigeration systems, including systems controlled by automated building control systems and electronic control modules. This position supervises inmate workers and ensures assigned work is completed in a safe and efficient manner.

Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge of HVAC practices and testing. Knowledge of related governmental codes and standards relating to general maintenance. Ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain complex HVAC and refrigeration systems. Ability to keep narrative and statistical records relating to the maintenance and repair of equipment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

Additional Considerations

HVAC certification or related trade. Experience working in an adult corrections or similar environment. Refrigeration license with three or more years of HVAC experience. Ability to supervise staff and/or inmate workers. Working knowledge of building maintenance and repair. Experience in corrections and institutional security procedures.
