Job Description

Sustainability is at the core of what we do and what we stand for. Proactively meeting the continuously evolving standards for sustainable development in all parts of the organization, projects and operations is central to our success. Therefore, we are looking for a Senior Advisor Sustainability to join our HSS & Sustainability team in Business Area International (I). The team is responsible for providing HSS and  Sustainability support and guidance to the BA asset portfolio, coordinate sustainability reporting and support with HSS & sustainability  activities in the counties. The purpose of this position is to drive sustainability activities in the BA, support the countries and to coordinate sustainability reporting across BA I.

You have a passion for developing the sustainability agenda for renewable energy projects and a keen interest in driving the green transition through business opportunities. Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Support development of sustainability roadmaps and plans for initiatives in the BA and countries which are in line with our corporate sustainability policy, Assist in risk & impact assessments and implementation of sustainability management in projects, as well as  ensuring  lessons learned are captured and shared across the BA
  • Continuously work towards establishing a systematic and structured approach to managing sustainability in BA I and providing support to the countries
  • Provide expert advice, guidance and training to country teams on sustainability matters throughout project decision gates and the project lifecycle
  • Assist with risk assessments, quality assurance and control of projects and assets in the countries, working with sustainability counterparts.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant sustainability standards (CSRD/IFC Performance Standards), regulations and guidelines
  • Support with sustainability reporting across BA I
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance our reputation as a sustainability leader
  • Work with other teams in ensuring sustainability requirements are included in project planning and tender documents
  • Support the  HSS and Sustainability team with HSS related initiatives and requirement as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • Higher relevant education, preferably at Master’s level
  • Minimum 5 years international  experience as a project leader managing sustainability projects with governance and implementation
  • Knowledge and understanding in implementation of  key sustainability topics, e.g. human rights and social management, biodiversity, environment, climate, circular economy
  • Knowledge from working with ESG reporting and sustainability topics 

Preferred

  • Experience in working with HSS, defining and implementing  HSS systems, requirements  and initiatives.
  • Experience from the Energy/Renewable/Civil  and understanding of the renewable energy technologies 
  • Understanding of Asia and / or Latin American countries
  • Business integrated sustainability and how the agenda fits into overall business activities
  • Practical application of key  requirements, standards and frameworks, requirements like the EU CSRD and the implications of these
