Position Summary
The Sr. Analyst, IT – Data Architect is responsible for providing business intelligence (BI) subject matter expertise to the DCRI. This role will require to work closely with key stakeholders, collect requirements, and produce deliverables in the form of data acquisition to semantic layer design, data reports, dashboards, or raw datasets that will be used to drive business decisions. This Data Architect will ensure accuracy, accessibility, and security of data relevant to the organization and clinical research projects. The Data Architect will mentor staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient, effective and reusable solutions. He/she will help to achieve the growth and use of BI at the DCRI, meet project objectives and maintain data engineering best practices.
As a member of the Data Analytics & Insights team, this Data Architect will join IT professionals with a broad knowledge of the healthcare industry including regulatory reporting and compliance and healthcare IT. The Data Architect will be part of a collaborative IT service delivery team intent on providing exceptional client service to meet overall DCRI objectives.

Position Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end data solutions, including data ingestion, storage, processing, and visualization on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, focusing on scalability, security, and efficiency to support business objectives.
- Act as a liaison with the cloud architects/engineers and ensure data engineering best practices are supported by optimizing the cloud infrastructure.
- Establish and promote best practices for the data framework across enterprise data and clinical research data and implement data operation standards.
- Provide guidance and direction for business intelligence capabilities for the DCRI
- Lead efforts in data mining and analytics in support of BI efforts and projects for the organization; continually look for opportunities to diversify and draw from multiple disparate data sources, both structured and unstructured
- Identify and apply BI tools and software to perform data engineering and data analysis.
- Prepare and develop reports, presentations and other documents for communicating findings to business owners and management.
- Balance project timeliness; maintain overall quality across multiple projects and consultations; complete ad hoc analytical requests within agreed upon time
- Monitor and troubleshoot data processing systems, optimizing performance and cost.
- Assist the new proposals and projects intake process with design, architecture and budget.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
BA or BS Degree in Analytics, IT or other relevant field and 5 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years combined experience in healthcare business data management, business intelligence or IT consulting
- Experience in healthcare business intelligence (experience with CRO/Academic CRO preferred), data transformation/data modeling, metadata management, data security, data warehouse/data mart
- Experience with cloud platform and ETL tools such as Informatica, Microsoft Azure Synapse, SAS; hands on experience with Microsoft Azure platform a plus.
