Inova Family Practice is seeking a Medical Records Clerk to join the Family Medicine team at Fair Oaks! This role is Full-time Day Shift working 40 hours weekly Monday to Friday 8am-5pm.

Requirements for consideration:

• High School or GED

Job Responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Performs second analysis to ensure that all deficiencies have been satisfied.
• Utilizes SoftMed Chart Locator to indicate the location of medical records.
• Ensures that transcription changes are made appropriately to keep physician deficiencies current.
• Retrieves medical records in accordance with unit specific guidelines in a timely manner.
• Files medical record information in accordance with unit specific guidelines.
• Responds to telephone requests for patient information as defined by unit specific guidelines.
• Retrieves records for physician completion when appropriate.
• Maintains the Medical Record department filing system for record organization and retrieval to meet departmental goals.
• May perform additional job duties as assigned.
