The Mobile Health Driver and Patient Escort is responsible for safely operating any and all Cherry Health owned vehicles. Mobile health vehicles are 36’ – 38’ in length. Will drive to and from scheduled events at local schools, health clinics, health fairs etc. Will oversee scheduling and maintenance of the Cherry Health owned vehicles. Responsible for escorting patients, including students, to and from the mobile health vehicle for appointments. This is a full time, benefit eligible position typically working Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Three years’ experience operating and maintaining large vehicles including but not limited to school or city buses or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.
- Valid Michigan's Chauffer license - required
- CDL license preferred
- CPR certification (offered at Cherry Health) required
Responsibilities:
- Safely drive Cherry Health vehicles to and from planned destinations while following all local and state rules and regulations.
- Ensure vehicles are properly garaged and locked at end of business day.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled and in acceptable operating condition.
- Responsible for routine maintenance of vehicles.
- Responsible for scheduling and delivering vehicles for any needed repairs or service appointments.
- Responsible for identifying and maintaining vendor relationships with vehicle service providers.
- Work in collaboration with vision and medical service teams on scheduling, movement and set up of mobile health vehicles.
- Work with vision and medical team to safely escort patients, including students, to and from the mobile units.
- Complete required paperwork including daily logs, safety checks and route sheets.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and fellow employees.
- Greet clients/patients and ensure documentation for visit is obtained and recorded appropriately, including confirmation of insurance eligibility, and other necessary forms are filled out completely, and required signatures are secured.
- Obtain necessary patient information, including insurance provider, update patient information if necessary, and collect payment for services and/or bill patients’ accounts.
