Revenue Accountant

AffiniPay is looking for a Revenue Accountant who will play a key role in managing the month-end close process and will report to the Director of Accounting. The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background, a comprehensive understanding of GAAP and experience working in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. The Revenue Accountant will have an opportunity to scale accounting tasks through automation and/or process improvements.

What You'll Do:

• Record monthly recurring software revenue, implementation revenue, deferred revenue, referral income, payments revenue, and execute proper revenue recognition based on ASC606
• Review, record, and reconcile cash receipts of software and payments revenue for MyCase card brands
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations for Other Assets, Deferred Revenue, Other Receivables, Allowance for Doubtful Accounts, and other as assigned
• Review and record Allowance for Doubtful Accounts
• Audit monthly and annual billing runs and revenue recognition subscriptions in Zuora
• Assist with preparing monthly financial reports and analyze financial statement results in conjunction with FP&A to explain and resolve variances as needed
• Lead efforts to automate processes by developing a deep understanding of source data and end user needs; work cross functionally to gather data for implementation, design and oversight of new processes
• Ensure procedures are in accordance with GAAP requirements and accounting department policies and procedures
• Document internal controls and processes for accurate and timely financial reporting and offer recommendations on improvements 
• Perform ad hoc analysis and develop or recommend accounting methods and procedures as required
• Lead special projects as assigned

About You:

• 3+ years experience in billing, revenue recognition, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Proficiency in Excel and Google Suite of Products
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field
• Experience with Zuora highly desired, but not required
• Experience with SalesForce desired, but not required
• Experience with Workday desired, but not required
• Experience with Stripe desired, but not required
• Experience with data visualization software such as Power BI or Tableau highly desired
• Excellent leadership and project management skills
• Outstanding problem-solving skills; “can-do” attitude and resourcefulness combined with ability to propose solutions
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Exemplary analytical and communication skills
• Superior customer service skills with both internal and external stakeholders
• Experience with system integrations
• Experience drafting technical accounting memos and researching FASB guidance preferred
• Solid ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other departments.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment; ability to pivot as business priorities shift
• Able to come into the Austin office in a hybrid manner
