Job Description
Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? The University of Nevada, Reno Extension is looking for a motivated and community-focused instructor with strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve as a Community Based Instructor 3 and join our team in Lander County. This part-time (70% FTE) role, based in Battle Mountain, Nevada, and reports to the Extension County Coordinator for Lander and Humboldt Counties.
Responsibilities Include:
Deliver direct education and programming in schools, community centers, and public sites.
Develop and implement strategies for participant recruitment and retention.
Foster strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
Collect and manage participant demographics, attendance records, and program evaluation data.
Support community events, Extension projects, and statewide programming efforts.
Source instructional materials and manage inventory per University and State guidelines.
Communicate programming needs, concerns, and successes with the supervisor and statewide teams.
Travel within Lander County and occasionally outside of the county for trainings or events.
Required Qualifications
This position requires graduation from high school or equivalent education and three (3) years of relevant work experience in areas such as agriculture, horticulture, community development, health and nutrition, human and family development, and natural resources in urban and rural areas; OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above
A valid driver’s license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
This position requires candidates to complete a fingerprinting/background check.
