UPDATE
The Mellon Fellowship for Humanities Teaching in Community Colleges provides an opportunity for CWRU graduate students in the humanities, arts, and humanistic social sciences to explore potential careers at access-oriented institutions. Mellon Fellows will spend the Spring 2022 semester collaborating with a Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) faculty member on all aspects of an introductory-level course in an appropriate discipline on one of the Tri-C campuses. The award includes at $1,500 stipend.
Qualifications

Eligibility:
- Successful completion of HUMN 422: Teaching Careers at Community Colleges (Fall 2020 or Fall 2021).
- Completion of at least 18 credit hours of field-specific study at the graduate level by/before 2022.
- AY 2020-2021 enrollment in one of the following CWRU College of Arts and Sciences graduate programs: Anthropology, Art, Art History, Dance, English, History, Modern Languages & Literatures, Music, Political Science, Philosophy, Psychological Sciences (incl. Comm Sciences), Religious Studies, Sociology, Theater

- Cover Letter that describes your interest in teaching at a community college, explains the subject areas in which you are prepared to teach, and describes any relevant teaching/mentoring experiences or coursework
- Current CV
- Statement of Teaching
- One confidential letter of recommendation, preferably from a faculty member who has observed you teach or has knowledge of your pedagogical activities
- If your letter of recommendation does not come from your research advisor, please submit an acknowledgment from your research advisor of your planned participation in Spring 2022. (Note: This is not an additional letter of recommendation; a short email acknowledging your plan to participate in the Mellon Fellowship is all that is expected.)
