Schedule:
- 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM
- Rotating weekends
Shift Differential:
- Applicable for evening and weekend shifts
Position Summary:
Responsible for transporting patients to and from points of service, including admissions, discharges, ancillary areas, and other service locations. Duties include safe handling of patients and equipment during transport.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduates from an approved IU Health transition-to-work program are eligible.
- Training in assigned competencies, including:
- Patient oxygen equipment and monitoring
- Safe lifting and transfer techniques
- Infection control policies
- Ability to follow oxygen transport policies and procedures, including attaching and monitoring oxygen tank levels during transport.
- Physical requirements:
- Frequent standing and walking
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., with bending, stooping, and twisting
- Repetitive motions such as grasping, fine manipulation, and wrist rotation
- Completion of in-service training for proper lifting techniques.
- No prior experience required.
