The British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is currently seeking a Front Office and Trading Solutions Co-op Student/Intern for the Winter 2025 (January to April) term to support the Public Markets Operations team. WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will work directly with the Senior Associate of Front Office and Trading Solutions and work closely with Investment Operations, Technology, and the Front Office.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Work under the supervision of Senior Associate, Public Markets Operations and assist with various projects
Assist with configuring and optimizing Trading and Portfolio Management tools including Bloomberg AIM and PORT
Documenting front office workflows
Creating PowerBi Dashboards
Creating low-code applications using PowerApps and other tools
Optimize (or replace) Excel based solutions

Required Skills

A basic understanding of business and investment-related disciplines
Excellent concise communication & problem solving skills
Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy, product quality, and attention to detail
Interest in investment management
Dedication to hard work, commitment to the highest ethical standards, and an eagerness to learn
Strong research skills combined with analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to use Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
Ability to work effectively across multiple teams & learn quickly

Competitive pay: Front Office: $2,665.00 gross bi-weekly + vacation leave paid based on 6% of salary

THE DETAILS

Work term: Winter 2025 (January to April)
Department: Public Markets
Office Location: 750 Pandora Avenue, Victoria, BC
Spend your off hours exploring beautiful Victoria and Vancouver Island
Travel: if coming to Victoria for this work term, BCI will provide a fixed-rate travel allowance based on your location
All co-ops/internships will need to be completed in person at our Victoria office with the option to work one day per week from home. Please note, some positions are not eligible for hybrid work.
