IT Concepts is looking for an experienced Data Standards Lead to support our DHS/USCIS customer. As the Data Standards Lead, you will be responsible for leading the overall efforts to expand the development, implementation, and maintenance of data standards across the Agency’s current and future systems. You will be identifying key strategies, developing, and presenting recommendation packages including impact assessments, liaising with external offices as needed, implementing the approved data standards, and developing monitoring and reporting capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess existing data standards and identify opportunities for improvement or harmonization.
- Define and document data standards and metadata requirements for key data domains, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Establish processes and tools for enforcing compliance with data standards and conducting regular audits to monitor adherence.
- Provide guidance and support to data governance and data management teams on the interpretation and implementation of data standards.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on data standards and best practices, providing training and education to stakeholders as needed.
Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in data standards and data management, and evaluate their potential impact on our organization.
Location: This position can be performed in a remote setting with EST working hours.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- A bachelor's degree in information systems, data analytics, data management, or a similar field
- Must have active PMP OR at least ten (10) years project management experience
- Five (5) years of experience with facilitating success in establishing data standards, data management, and leading the technical and human aspects of data-related projects at the federal level
- Strong customer orientation, and conflict resolution skills
- Experience working with DHS
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Experiencing leading data literacy programs at DHS
Clearance
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a USCIS clearance- Public Trust process
