Senior Product Designer, Growth
LatticeAbout the role
This is Product Design at Lattice
Lattice is a unified people platform - a full Talent Management suite covering performance reviews, engagement surveys, feedback, check-ins, goals, and career and compensation planning. Since 2016, we've grown to support over 5,000 customers globally. We're now building the next generation of our AI-native product suite.
We're a passionate group dedicated to growing together. Currently ~13, our team spans Brand Design, Product Design, and Research. We work closely with our cross-functional partners to ensure holistic thinking and high-quality experiences for our customers.
A note on what we’re looking for
Product design is evolving quickly in an AI-native world. As tools and processes continue to change, we are looking for someone who is extremely comfortable with (and even energized by) ambiguity, and is a demonstrated self-starter. You should push our tech stack, not wait to inherit one that hasn't been defined yet.
We’re looking for builders. People who can prototype in code, push pixels in design, and write the doc that aligns the room. We believe people who can flex when needed to play multiple roles can lead us on the fastest path to shipping the best products. Success here requires focus and the ability to make thoughtful tradeoffs to ensure we're always working on what matters most.
We look for collaborative partners who take ownership of their work while supporting and elevating the rest of the team. If you enjoy working in a high-trust, collaborative environment, we’d love to meet you.
What you’ll do
We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our Traction (Growth) Team to help more managers and employees get real value from Lattice’s core workflows. This team works on the moments that turn “I tried Lattice” into “I use Lattice every week.” We focus on reducing friction, building habits, and helping people successfully complete everyday work, like prepping for 1:1s, giving feedback, or writing weekly updates. The Traction Team is a small, flexible team that sits alongside our dedicated product teams, focusing on hypothesis-driven experimentation and iteration.
This role is perfect for designers who love working with data, forming hypotheses, and living in ambiguity, while reaching toward a north star metric. You’ll work with our existing design system, but also be creating net new experiences to help drive activation and engagement. You’ll work with your cross-functional team to scope experiments, design quickly, and then drive iteration towards a final solution based on data. You’ll also be working with designers across Lattice to ensure your solutions fit seamlessly into their product surfaces.
What you’ll bring
Even if you don’t feel your experience covers everything listed below, we still encourage you to apply! The goal of this job posting is to establish the shape of the role, and we’re open to adjusting the leveling if we find someone who’s a great fit for that shape.
Product growth skills
- 3 to 5+ years experience working on a product growth team: forming customer-centric hypotheses, A/B testing, shipping iteratively, and partnering with Data Science to evaluate test results.
- Experience collaborating with designers across multiple teams to ensure your solutions fit seamlessly into their product surfaces.
- Experience deeply understanding customers and their needs, working closely with User Research and Data to collect and evaluate both quantitative and qualitative inputs, and incorporate those into your work.
Core design skills
- Experience evaluating and designing complex workflows, in particular flows that move across or have impact on multiple products within a suite.
- A strong understanding of visual design principles (as evident in your work), in particular with regard to spacing, typography, hierarchy, and usage of color to communicate states and numeric values.
- Proven success working with an established design system, by reusing existing components but you also have experience building net new components and layouts.
Communication & collaboration skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a talent for succinctly articulating customer challenges and design decisions.
- A reliable and proactive partner for product and engineering: you think at a high-level about your team’s focus area and collaborate closely with your PM and Engineering partners to define the future of what your team owns.
- A love for design feedback - both receiving and giving. You are someone who consistently shares your work with other designers and your cross-functional team, and who regularly engages with other designers’ work.
