Overview:

Leader responsible for all aspects of project start-up preparation and execution across Gulf of Mexico assets (10).

Principle Accountabilities:

Develop and deliver the Start-Up and Operations Readiness preparation and execution objectives and goals within the Facilities Engineering and Construction organization.

This includes:

  • Leadership for HES performance
  • Establish and maintain a track record for proactive and efficient delivery of Project Start-up activities with no compromise to personnel safety and facility integrity
  • Coordination with Topsides and Subsea Commissioning, Project Management, Engineering, Asset and Operations teams to prepare and deliver start-up activities to meet business goals and objectives
  • Develop and maintain the key Start-up and Operations Readiness deliverables per the FEC Project Execution Model.
  • Manage interface and ensure completion of Operations performed activities needed to ensure a safe and timely project start-up
  • Provide input to project schedules and budgets according to strategic business plans
  • Establish the start-up execution milestones, integrating them with existing management processes
  • Drive the integrated execution plan to identify the most efficient plan to meet the start-up execution milestones
  • Assessment and management of risks associated with project stat-up and brownfield operations
  • Oversight of project start-up campaigns, including planning, execution and performance management
  • Assist the Manager, FEC CSU with the standardization of procedures, guidelines, systems, tools, databases, and reporting across organization.  Assist with the roll-out and communication of this standardization.
  • Champion CSU and Operations involvement in all phases of project execution.  Ensure that Operations focal points are engaged when needed for input
  • Development of relationships with contractors, partners, and internal stakeholders to enable strong project deliveries and effective problem resolution
  • Review and approve System Start-Up Procedures
  • Responsible for project assignments and guidance for subordinates
  • Responsible for career development and training for subordinates
  • Responsible for performance reviews for subordinates

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in project execution with substantial experience in commissioning and start-up
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a leadership role within a commissioning/start-up organization
  • Experience in both brownfield and greenfield projects
  • The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge and experience in one of the following commissioning disciplines: Mechanical, Process, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Controls.  Additionally, the candidate should have a working depth and breadth in the remaining disciplines.
  • The ideal candidate will be familiar with the processes, activities, and risks pertaining to an operating offshore oil and gas facility and can effectively communicate the change in risk profiles during the initial start-up phase of a project.
  • Strong understanding of the US Gulf of Mexico regulatory requirements and current industry standards
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field is required

Additional Accountabilities:

  • This position requires the candidate to exhibit excellent leadership skills with the ability to establish extensive contacts internally, and with partners, contractors and vendors.
  • Update Senior Leadership on all HES, execution, performance, and regulatory issues.
