Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, the Program Sourcing Specialist is responsible for ensuring that multi-year, production program(s) have the right materials, at the right time, with the right price. This role, in tandem with their PIC counterpart (Production & Inventory Control) has full responsibility over the materials (direct & indirect) needed to support their program. Primary activities include sourcing fabricated, electrical and COTS parts, sending RFQ packages, placing PO’s, resolving quality issues (cert issues & RTV processing), and hosting supplier calls to ensure PO’s are on track for promised delivery dates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all purchased product for the program(s), using the ERP (Epicor) and other demand streams to ensure fulfillment of goods to the internal shop on-time and on-budget.
- Process organization’s purchase requisitions, issue RFQ’s, negotiate price and delivery, and issue purchase orders.
- Properly source (when applicable) the right suppliers for cost, quality, and delivery working closely with Supplier Development Engineer, Program Manager, and Supply Chain leadership.
- Provide quotation/pricing support to Program Management, as needed.
- Update order status within ERP & to internal customers – expedite critical orders.
- Process material requisitions, Purchase Orders, PO confirmations and change orders.
- Update PO pricing and delivery dates consistently during lifecycle of PO.
- Manage CFM (customer furnished material) for select suppliers, ensuring that BN supplied parts are being tracked accurately & used appropriately for scope of work.
- Prepare all aspects of procurement solicitations, including terms and conditions, customer contract flow down requirements, scope of work, and other requirements to facilitate acquisition of raw materials, goods, and services.
- Administer return authorizations for discrepant materials, goods, and services – processing RTV’s through Supplier RMA’s working with Operations, Quality, and Suppliers. Additionally, manage cert issues between internal Quality department and suppliers on paperwork issues.
- Maintain and manage preferred/qualified vendor system, assist in collect/analyze on time delivery and incoming inspection data, and recommend subsequent action (assisting Supplier Development Engineer).
- Maintain supplier certification records in the ERP (Epicor) system.
- Conduct vendor surveys and participate in on-site supplier audits.
- Conduct pricing comparisons and create selection criteria for suppliers.
- Review vendor performance to ensure Program needs are being met.
- Generate appropriate reports and analysis to facilitate continual improvement and development of supplier base.
- Develop new relationships and maintain existing relationships with vendors.
- Conduct warehouse stock checks to ensure accurate inventory.
- Other duties as required/assigned.
Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, an individual must possess the knowledge, training, experience, and abilities required.
- 5+ years of relevant experience, such as buying, sourcing, procuring, supply chain planning, etc. in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or similar, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- MRP/ERP experience – ability to understand demand requirements, navigate reports, and align supply with demand to fulfill program needs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain strong relationships.
- Outstanding planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
- Must be willing to work overtime as required.
- Travel up to 20% of working time.
Preferred Qualification:
- Aerospace & Defense industry experience highly preferred.
- ISO/AS quality system experience desired.
