Senior DevOps Engineer (Remote) - Portugal

<p><strong>The role:</strong></p> <p>AlphaSights' Platform Engineers work hard to make sure we’re performant, highly available and resilient to failures. As a DevOps engineer, you will be responsible for planning, building and maintaining our core AWS infrastructure and our CI/CD pipelines and toolset. </p> <p>We're looking for people who are interested in designing and executing solutions to a very high standard, comfortable working across multiple technologies, and learn quickly when new ones are introduced. We care more about your engineering skill versus your deep knowledge of a particular tool, provider or technology.</p> <p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>Create solutions that <strong>enable our engineering teams</strong> to deploy code quickly, reliably and securely</p> </li> <li> <p>Ensure the<strong> availability, scalability, performance a</strong>nd security of our cloud infrastructure</p> </li> <li> <p>Diagnose and troubleshoot application and infrastructure related issues <strong>quickly and effectively</strong></p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Provision cloud resources</strong> based on capacity, computing and security requirements</p> </li> <li> <p>Always have <strong>best security practices top of mind</strong>, employing zero trust and principle of least privilege across all critical systems and resources</p> </li> <li> <p>Work in tandem with development teams to manage and <strong>execute DevOps and Infrastructure initiatives</strong></p> </li> <li> <p>Regularly evaluate and research alternative solutions to <strong>improve internal DevOps processes</strong></p> </li> <li> <p>Continuously evaluate and refine the<strong> monitoring of our critical infrastructure</strong> and applications</p> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Who you are:</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>5+ years experience in demonstrating <strong>competency and positive results</strong> in a DevOps, SRE or Infrastructure Engineering role</p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Professional experience with CI/CD</strong> tooling and concepts, including Git, CircleCI, GitLab, Spinnaker</p> </li> <li> <p>5+ years experience <strong>managing and demonstrating competency with AWS infrastructure</strong>, including EKS, IAM, RDS, S3, OpenSearch, DynamoDB, ECR and ASM. AWS Certification is a plus</p> </li> <li> <p>Advanced knowledge of <strong>Kubernetes administration and container orchestration</strong> in a production context</p> </li> <li> <p>Capable of <strong>developing and maintaining tools that enable developers </strong>to manage environments and automate common tasks</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience with <strong>automating infrastructure provisioning</strong> using Terraform or another IaC tool</p> </li> <li> <p>Knowledge of a variety of <strong>security concepts and frameworks</strong> that can be leveraged in your day to day work, and <strong>applying those concepts in securing our AWS environments</strong></p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Experience with multi-tier architectures: </strong>load balancers, caching, web servers, application servers, databases, and networking.</p> </li> <li> <p>Familiarity with <strong>disaster recovery concepts</strong>, failover and redundant architecture.</p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Highly collaborative, organized </strong>and has the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.</p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Highly driven and proactive </strong>– you relentlessly and independently push through hurdles and drive towards excellent outcomes.</p> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Who you would work with:</strong></p> <ul> <li>You would join a dynamic, multinational, and diverse team who enjoy solving interesting problems in a collaborative environment</li> <li>We have self-taught engineers as well as graduates from top Computer Science and Engineering schools</li> <li>Your co-workers will include motivated recent graduates as well as experienced industry leaders from companies such as Google and Amazon</li> </ul> <p><a href="https://www.alphasights.com/careers/engineering/?locale=en">Learn more about our tech organization</a> and <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOi79Vnh-jA">see our team in action by viewing this video</a>!</p> <p>Don't worry if your experience or background doesn't match all of these areas, we believe a broad spectrum of experience provides great perspective on solving problems in new and innovative ways and we’d love to hear from you.</p> <p>Please note that unfortunately, we are unable to sponsor visas for this position.
