Job Description

Manufacturing controls system engineer to support the manufacturing and remanufacturing of Large Engine Diesel System such as Injectors, high-pressure Pumps, etc.

The controls engineer must work together with team members to maintain and improve quality and efficiency of the value streams.  Working with the automatic vision / optical information systems and also working with programming language C/C++, C# is required.  An understanding of programming logic controllers (PLC) involving Allen-Bradley and Siemens is necessary.  Expected to maintain, improve, or introduce systems to ensure performance and targets are meet.

The position also requires troubleshooting and operation of production, inspection and measurement equipment, development and construction of new equipment and upgrades to existing equipment. Identify, specify, order, and implement new equipment and processes to meet future product / production demands and business objectives.

Investigate and solve root causes of manufacturing process problems.

Identify and lead projects to improve cost, quality, delivery, utilization, and safety of manufacturing processes in order to meet key metrics within the workshop.

Qualifications

Technical Skills:

  • BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Control Engineering) and 3+ years technical experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. 
  • Preferred knowledge / experience with programming systems/languages of C/C++, C#, Python, SQL, PLC, (Allen Bradley, Siemens), HTML/Javascript etc.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, Microsoft SQL, Oracle) and IT concepts (VMs, networking)
  • Experience utilizing problem solving techniques to solve complex manufacturing issues (ie. Six Sigma, Shainin, 5 whys).

  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams with a high degree of self-initiative.
