Employment Type: Full Time

Location: New Haven, CT

Description

Engineering Consulting Firm | Growing Team | Big Impact

Are you an HR professional who loves being in the mix—supporting employees, keeping processes running smoothly, and partnering with a team that genuinely has each other’s backs? We’re looking for an HR Generalist to join our growing engineering consulting firm and help deliver an outstanding employee experience from hire to retire.

In this role, you’ll work closely with our HR Manager and serve as a trusted point of contact for employees across the organization. You’ll touch every part of the employee lifecycle, from onboarding new hires to benefits and leave administration, reporting, and offboarding—making a real impact every single day.

What You'll Do

(No two days look exactly the same, and that’s the fun of it.)
  • Administer day-to-day employee benefits programs and act as a go-to resource during open enrollment.
  • Coordinate and deliver engaging new hire orientation and onboarding experiences.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for employee leave requests and support LOA administration.
  • Respond to employee questions related to HR policies, benefits, and general employment matters.
  • Prepare ad hoc HR reports and data summaries; respond to internal RFIs.
  • Process employee lifecycle changes in ADP and other systems (hires, promotions, transfers, terminations).
  • Manage offboarding processes, including system updates, documentation, and exit coordination.
  • Support campus recruiting efforts, including career fairs and campus events.

About Us

We’re a six-person Human Resources & Talent Acquisition team that takes our work seriously—but not ourselves.
  • “That’s not my job” isn’t part of our vocabulary. We jump in, help out, and learn from each other.
  • Employees are our clients, and we pride ourselves on being responsive, supportive, and solutions-oriented.
  • HR can be tough. We survive it with humor, teamwork, and a healthy amount of pop culture banter.

About YouYou might be the perfect fit if you:
  • Have experience in a general HR role—this is a great next step for an HR Assistant or Coordinator ready to grow.
  • Have Basic knowledge of employment laws
  • Are comfortable working in HRIS systems (ADP experience is a big plus).
  • Are highly reliable—you follow through, respond promptly using professional judgment, and approach employees with a customer-service mindset.
  • Are detail-oriented and organized, with a knack for tying up loose ends.
  • Take confidentiality seriously and handle sensitive information with care and professionalism.

This is a hybrid role, offering the best of both worlds—collaborate in-office with a high-performing team and enjoy the flexibility of working remotely part of the week. We're committed to supporting work-life balance while maintaining strong team connection and project delivery.

Why You’ll Love It Here

You’ll gain hands-on exposure across the full HR function, work with a supportive and collaborative team, and grow your career in an environment that values people, humor, and doing things the right way.
