Description

Position Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our human resources team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with excellent communication skills, capable of fostering a positive work environment and ensuring effective HR practices are implemented across the organization.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Functions as an employee relations specialist by handling employee relations counseling, investigations, and follow-up with business leaders and the HR Manager for resolution.
  • Conducts weekly meetings with respective business leaders to service the work area’s needs proactively.
  • Viewed as an employee advocate. Acknowledges and resolves all employee questions and concerns promptly by partnering with leaders and interpreting/adhering to HR/company policies, ensuring consistency for both leadership and employees.
  • Coaches, counsels, and guides operational leaders regarding performance management, promotions/transfers, terminations, pay changes, corrective action, and other matters of organizational risk to drive performance and adherence to company policy.
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Effectively manages projects to support HR and organizational strategies as indicated by HR management.
  • Oversees attendance and progressive discipline process for the company.
  • Collaborates closely with leadership regarding employee retention activities, including identifying potential at-risk employees; developing resources for managers; administering survey and feedback modules; coaching and training for management team   members; and other related retention activities.
  • Key participant in developing and implementing human resource objectives, goals, and system development to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Acts as a change agent who assesses operational challenges, trends, and overall employee morale and advises the HR team and management on recommended resolution(s).
  • Supports other HR functional areas as required to support business needs (payroll, compensation, benefits, recruitment, training) as requested by the Human Resources Manager.
  • Coordinates assistance with legal investigations and defense preparation with claims filed with EEOC, CRD, and other government agencies.
  • Assist with changes in employment status, terminations, time-off requests, documentation, compliance, etc.
  • Owner/Manager of company 30-60-90-day review program.
  • Supports employee recognition programs as needed.
  • Develop a solid understanding of the business areas being supported.
  • Flexibility to support 24/7 operations for employee relation issues/town hall meetings.
  • Ensures compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and applicable regulatory requirements while following the company’s Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School or Equivalent Diploma.
  • Two or more years of HR experience – ideally with a focus on safety, manufacturing/production.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in one or more of the following HR functions:
  • Payroll processing, recruitment, labor relations, compensation, benefits, and training
  • Knowledge/understanding of employment laws and their practical application in the workplace, including but not limited to EEO, FMLA, FLSA, HIPPA, ADA, etc.
  • Maintain employee records, manage HR databases/HRIS systems, and ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations. 
  • Advanced proficiency using MS Office Products, including advanced working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Superior customer service skills, including the ability to interact and create positive relationships with various organizational personalities and positions.
  • Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality with critical and sensitive information, records, and reports.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and apply business policies, processes, and procedures
  • Proven competencies surrounding accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with employees and leaders at all levels and handle sensitive issues.
  • Aptitude for thinking critically and resolving employee issues or conflicts fairly and effectively.
  • Flexibility to support 24/7 operations as needed for employee relation matters
